Late Afternoon Light

Oil on Linen
18 X 24

This painting is from a farm near Farmington, MO on day where I was scouting the countryside fro ideas to paint. It was getting late in the afternoon and the sun was quickly disappearing from the lower grounds, but still touching the hills in the higher elevations. These bails of hay where there is no sunlight were the perfect foreground for the distant hills bathed in sunlight.
