The First Snow of the Season

Oil on Linen Board

I have wanted to do this painting for some time now. When I take a photograph to use as reference material, not only I try my hardest to capture a great image, but most importantly, I carefully observe the colors and commit them to memory. This one, I can still see vividly in my mind after several seasons since I saw it. The sun gently kissed portions of the trees and a sliver of light could be seen on the snow. I intend to paint a larger piece in the next few weeks.
